Five killed in USAF C-130 crash
A USAF 156th Airlift Wing Lockheed C-130H Hercules (65-0968) was destroyed by impact and post impact fire when it crashed shortly after take-off from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport(SAV/KSAV), Savannah, Georgia on May 2, 2018. The point of impact was on Highway 21 in Port Wentworth, about 1.5 miles northeast of the airport. Video appears to show the aircraft in a steepening, descending left bank with it being in a near vertical dive at impact. All 5 crew on board (some reports say 9 people were on board) died in the accident. The accident happened in daylight (1130L) and in VMC - CAVOK. The aircraft was operating a flight to Davis Monthan AFB, near Tucson, Arizona.
