(Airbus)
Frontier Airlines has placed a firm order for 10 Airbus A321ceo and two A320ceo aircraft. This is the second time in less than a year the Denver, Colorado-based airline has ordered the A321, the largest member of the A320 family.
Including this order, Frontier has a backlog of 101 Airbus single-aisle aircraft. Their current in-service fleet consists of 55 A320 family aircraft (34 A319s and 21 A320s).
“This announcement paves the way for us to grow, modernize and renew our fleet while helping us build a strong foundation for the future,” Frontier president Barry Biffle. “We remain focused on our Low Fares Done Right business model for long-term success and we look forward to working with Airbus to achieve it.”
Frontier took delivery of its first Airbus aircraft in 2001 and has since transformed into an all-Airbus, all-A320 family fleet.
