TAM A350 progresses in final assembly

Brazilian carrier TAM's first Airbus A350-900 is "progressing well" in the airframer's final assembly line in Toulouse, says Airbus.

The airframer released a photo of the aircraft in the assembly line, sporting TAM's colours on its tail. The airline has said it expects to take delivery of its first A350 in December.

TAM has orders for 27 A350-900s and says it expects to place the type into revenue service in January 2016. It will be the launch operator of the A350 in the Americas and the fourth carrier in the world to fly the aircraft, after Qatar Airways, Vietnam Airlines and Finnair.
