Replacing an operation at Madrid Airport, the Heathrow facility provides access to the largest number of direct, nonstop flights available from any airport in Europe, so Gulfstream will be able to deliver parts and materials quickly. Since 2008, Gulfstream’s European fleet has almost doubled, to more than 200 aircraft from 109.
The new facility, operated by CEVA within its main London Heathrow complex, comprises approximately 8,000 sq ft of dedicated space and is operational 24 hours a day. It is expected to hold more than $50 million in parts inventory by the end of next year.
It is Customs-bonded, providing Gulfstream with the opportunity to eliminate duties on inventory being held for re-export. In addition to operating the facility, CEVA will take care of all imports, exports, ground transportation and Customs procedures.
