It will use the 182-seat Boeing 757, a single-aisle aircraft that American and other carriers often use on the thinner international routes.
“We are very excited to add Birmingham, England to American’s growing global network,” said Chuck Schubert, American’s vice president of network and schedule planning.
“This flight gives our customers on both sides of the Atlantic a new option for travel between the United States and England. Our extensive network beyond New York City will provide tremendous access between key business and leisure markets and Birmingham.”
American said that with Birmingham, American will fly to five U.K. destinations, joining London, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
