Jetstar Airways receives first 787 "Dreamliner"

Qantas subsidiary Jetstar Airways has taken delivery of the carrier's first of 14 Boeing 787s, which is also the first Dreamliner for Australia.

Qantas, which originally had 15 Dreamliners on order, canceled one Jan. 18 in a move unrelated to the grounding of the aircraft earlier this year.

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said, “In just 10 short years, Jetstar has grown to be the largest low-fares carrier in the Asia-Pacific, carrying more than 100 million passengers. The 787 will set up the airline for another decade of growth.”
