Air Niugini Orders 2 Q400s

Air Niugini has signed a purchase agreement with Bombardier for two new Bombardier Q400s.

The carrier's CEO Wasantha Kumarasiri signed the agreement in the presence of Bombardier VP of sales for Asia-Pacific, Trung Ngo, who was visiting Papua New Guinea's capital Port Moresby, says Air Niugini.

The turboprops will be delivered mid next year, says the national carrier.
The first aircraft is expected to be in service by July 2010 and the second in September 2010, it says.

Air Niugini already operates Bombardier turboprops, but it operates the older models and generally buys second-hand aircraft.
