WestJet - the pioneer of low-cost flying in Canada - began daily non-stop service from John Wayne Airport, Orange County (JWA) to Vancouver, BC today, May 2, 2011. The addition of Vancouver brings the total number of John Wayne Airport's non-stop destinations to 20.
"We are thrilled to welcome WestJet as our newest airline to John Wayne Airport," said Airport Director Alan L. Murphy. "WestJet's flights to Canada, along with their top-notch customer service, are a welcome addition in Orange County."

To help celebrate, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto arrived at the Airport to welcome the Canadian guests into Orange County - home of the Disneyland Resort.
Celebrating 15 years in business, WestJet offers scheduled service throughout its 71-city North American and Caribbean network. WestJet operates a fleet of 95 Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft offering increased legroom, leather seats and live seatback television. Passengers traveling south from Canada to the United States will be able to take advantage of the customs preclearance system in Canada.
