Irish rock band U2 is currently leasing this Blue Line MD-83 (49672/1494) F-GMLK for the European leg of their world tour. The aircraft is captured at Manchester International Airport (MAN/EGCC) where it spent a couple days.

The MD-83 was originally delivered to Spanair as EC-EJQ on August 12, 1988 having not been taken up by Irish Aerospace LtD. During July 1993 the aircraft was re-registered to EC-587 and was named "Sunshine." On October 27, 1993 the aircraft was again re-registered as EC-FTU. The aircraft continued flying with Spanair until March 1997 when it was leased by Nouvelair Tunisie as EI-CNO and was operated by same until December 23, 2004. The aircraft was then leased by Blue Line on January 30, 2005 as F-GMLK with whom it still serves today.
