Air New Zealand introduces new livery

Air New Zealand has unveiled a new aircraft livery featuring the iconic official New Zealand fern mark as the carrier joins with Tourism New Zealand in a one-year partnership to promote travel to New Zealand in selected international markets.

"The majority of the airline’s fleet will eventually feature the white version of the new livery and a limited number will feature the distinctive black version of the new design,” the carrier said in a statement.

“The new livery will be progressively rolled out across the entire fleet from later this year,” Air New Zealand told ATW.

According to the airline, the two partners will each invest more than $10 million over the next 12 months in marketing to Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, North America, the United Kingdom and Europe, as well as increased activity in emerging markets such as India and Indonesia.

Air New Zealand is the launch customer for the 787-9, which is longer than the 787-8 currently in operation. The airline is scheduled to take delivery of the aircraft between 2014 and 2017.
