Cargojet expects “a very robust peak period to end the year” after reporting a strong set of Q3 results helped by an uptick in E-commerce volumes.

The Canada-based airline, operating overnight air cargo services across North America plus global charters, saw revenues rise 8.8 per cent to C$47.2m in the third quarter ended September versus prior year.

Ajay Virmani, Cargojet president and chief executive, reported “very strong customer demand continued in the quarter. E-commerce volumes continue to be a strong driver of demand and we are expecting a very robust peak period to end the year."

Dr Virmani added: “One-time start-up costs, as we ramp up for our expanded domestic overnight network in 2015, were in line with expectations during the period.”
