Currently operating for National Airlines Cargo Group, this lovely DC-8-63CF (46145/548) N921R is captured at Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW/KDFW) as it departs on a FEMA relief flight to American Samoa.

The aircraft was originally delivered to Atlantis as D-ADIZ on 05/26/1971 serving with the carrier until 12/13/1972 when it was bought by Greyhound Leasing and financial Corportation and registerd as N65517. World Airways leased the aircraft on 12/18/1972 registering it to N806WA. World operated the aircraft until December 1974 when it was leased to Air Algerie then to Cargolux in in September 1978. The aircraft was WFU and stored at Roswell, New Mexico on 02/13/1982. On June 16, 1982 the aircraft was removed from storage and placed back into service with Overseas Natioanl Airways (ONA). It stayed with ONA until being leased to Icelandair on 03/24/1983, then being re-registered as N921R in November 1983. The aircraft was alternately operated by ONA, Icelandair, National Airlines, Capital Air, and Air India before its sale to ATASCO Leasing in December 1984. The aircraft continued serving with National Airlines until August 1985 when it was sold to Emery Worldwide. It served with the carrier until 12/31/1999. The aircraft was then bought by Daimler-Chrysler Corporation on 1/4/2000 and leased to Murray Aviation which now operates as National Airlines Cargo.
