Emirates Announces Dubai-Los Angeles Service


Emirates officially announced its new non-stop service between Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Los Angeles beginning October 26th, 2008. The announcement came as the carrier was in Los Angeles displaying it's new Airbus A380-861 on August 5th.


Emirates will operate the daily service with it's new Boeing 777-200LR on the route which features 266 seats in a three class layout. The cabin will feature eight luxurious private suites in first class, 42 of the latest lie-flat beds in business class, and 216 seats in economy class. Passengers in each class will enjoy the carriers world class inflight service with meals prepared by gourmet chefs and the carriers award-winning Digital Widescreen Entertainment with over 1,000 channels and nearly 1,700 hours of video and audio enterainment.


The non-stop flight covers a distance of 8,339 miles with a flight time of 16 hours 35 minutes to Los Angeles and 16 hours on the return to Dubai. UAE flight 215 departs Dubai at 8:20am and arrives in Los Angeles at 1:55pm with return flight 216 departing at 4:45pm arriving in Dubai at 7:40pm


The new service will operate out of the Tom Bradley International Terminal, which saw 61 million passengers pass through it's doors in 2007.
